Moving In At NAU

This weekend has been a little crazy. We got home very late on Thursday night from Seattle and then got up and started working around 8am on Friday to get my stuff packed in Anthony's truck. We got up here and there were guys from the football team to help everyone move in. Unpacking took a lot less time than the packing part. I spent the rest of the afternoon unpacking my boxes and doing a little organizing. In the evening, the five of us (Anthony, Mom, Shea, my roommate Morgan, and me), along with another friend from HS, went to see The Dark Knight and had some dinner. Today, which seems like it's been more than one, I have gotten my books, run a few errands, walked and biked around campus a bit, said goodbye to my mom and Anthony, and done a lot more organizing to prepare for the school year. Classes start on Monday and there are plenty of activities to keep everyone busy this week.

I took a few pictures of my dorm room to show everyone. I really like my room and my bed is REALLY comfortable. Morgan and I have always gotten along really well and so far things are the same. =]

Here are the picture and I will try to post again soon.

My Bed ^_^

The Desk (the left half is mine)

Corner with the sink, etc.

Our Beds

The Door (the mirror has since fallen, we're having trouble making things stick because we can't put holes in anything)

A truck full of stuff to move to college! I remember going off to Purdue with a small footlocker and my old Columbia one-speed bike. Art Mitrano and I moved into the living room of an old house in downtown Lafayette with four other freshmen. We slept on cots; we were lucky – there were 500 people sleeping on mats on the floor of the gym that year. In 1947 the GI Bill crowd overwhelmed most universities. Tuition was $120 per semester, which the Navy paid for me. They also gave me room and board (I think about $100/month) and paid for my textbooks. The second semester the University completed a lot of “temporary” housing and things got better – we moved into Cary Halls, four to a small two room unit. That was luxury.
