Winter break so far

I'm doing well. I had a nice birthday and I just found out yesterday that I got a B in my PreCalculus class that was really confusing. =] Official grades aren't posted yet, but I'm fairly certain that the rest are all A's and B's as well. Um... All that I've really done is go to Anthony's winter gala thing at ACAA and to his aunt's wedding with him too. Here are some pics from the wedding:

No classes on Fridays!

Finals.

I've been very busy trying to study and get projects done and I'm almost done! I'm finished with my paper that's due tomorrow and I have 3 exams tomorrow (Nutrition, Psych, and Math) and then one on Thursday (Theatre). That means for two whole days I'll be packing and relaxing and hanging out with Morgan. =] Just have to get through tomorrow. The only thing I'm a little worried about is math. That's my only cumulative final so it's a lot to remember. Anyway, just thought I'd let you all know that I'm alive and studying. I'll be back in Phoenix Thursday afternoon and then on to KY Monday night. I'm excited for Christmas!

Pictures!

These are from Wednesday; party in the hallway =]

And last night these same crazy neighbors decided to sleep in the hallway....

We went to the movies!

So yesterday Morgan and I went to the Humane Society and played with puppies! =] And then we came home and did some laundry and homework and then we went to see Madagascar 2. It was fun. We had a very long tiring day though because we walked pretty much all the places we went, plus played with the doggies. Today is homework, Morgan has work, and getting ready for classes, etc. At least the rest of the weekend was fun. Oh, I also went to a Girl Scout meeting with one of my sisters on Friday. I needed to get community service done for my sorority and it sounded like fun.

Copies and Classes

So yesterday I had a whole list of things to do... Not much got done. I had a meeting with one of my TA's which went well. Then, since I was already at the library I had planned to make copies for a presentation I have today. This did not work out because I couldn't get it from my laptop to a printer, trying to work this out took over 30 mins. Then I had to go because I had a group meeting at 3pm in my building so I ran and got food (hadn't eaten yet) and made it to that meeting. Afterward I went to Michael's to get project stuff with a group member, then home and after a bit I went back to the library for copies... Now to make copies you need an I.D. card, which is always always on me pretty much all the time. except that moment because I had taken it to Michael's and left it in that purse (didn't want to bring my school bag). So.... I had to go to a sorority meeting at that point and didn't have time to go back. =[ After my sorority thing I came home, went to the library and made my copies! ... But not before it kept stopping in the middle of jobs and charging me anyway. The nice lady said that it's supposed to put the money back on my account and after an hour of working at it, I did get all my copies. This was the main ordeal of my "day off" and it was a bit stressful.

This morning, however, I woke up super early to sign up for spring classes. I am now awake! and I'm working on getting some homework done to make up for yesterday and I plan to get my laundry out of the way before class at 12:40. And! I got all the classes I want except for a one credit class that says I need permission from the instructor to take and I e-mailed him asking if it was okay. If I can't get that class I just need that one last credit hour, so we'll see how that goes. He should say yes, though.

So overall, I'd say that things are okay. I had a good talk with my roommate last night about roommate stuff and catching up on things (we're both so busy). And I'm not fully caught up on my homework, but I'm not drowning in it either. School is still a bit stressful, but I'm having fun. The sorority is great, esp. a few particular girls that I spend pretty much all my time with. =] Um.... not much else, I guess.... So back to homework! And I have to wake Morgan up soon. I miss everyone and love you lots!

So...

By this afternoon the snow had mostly melted. I would have taken pics of what was left, but today has been so crazy that I really didn't have the chance. Next time it snows I will take some pictures and hopefully the snow will last more than one night. I have to get to a sorority thing soon so I have to go, but I'll post again soon!

Sunday, November 9, 2008

Also,

here are the pics I was going to post with the last one... Minus the pot because I never got those from Courtney.

The picture fame my big sister made me. That's her in the picture, Elissa. =]

And the paddle I made her.

SNOW!!!!

First snow of the school year! I'm pretty excited. =] I'll take some pictures tomorrow after class or something and post them. Everyone has been out making snowmen and having snowball fights and it's very exciting. I'm so glad I own snow boots now. They are very helpful and my poor feet would freeze without them. Anyway, just thought I'd let everyone know. There's SNOW! =P

Bad Casey...

I've been very distracted lately... So here are all the pics I've been saying I would post weeks ago. By the way, I'm a fully initiated member of Alpha Delta Pi now. And I'm halfway through the semester; projects, midterms, all that good stuff is done. I even picked out a topic and started an outline for my final paper in one of my classes (the only class that has a paper for a final). I'm keeping up pretty well and I've got all A's and Bs for my midterms so I'm pretty happy with that. I've been spending a lot of time with my sisters and I might as well have lived there this weekend... I've spent more time at the Greek dorm since Thursday than here.

So... in these first pics we were slack lining. This is when you take a line about an inch thick and hook it up between two trees and try to walk across it. Yes, I did need some help.

This is Kelly. She lives across the hall. =]

I absolutely love the shadow in this picture.

This is Cassie. She's right next door. I love all my neighbors. =]

And this is just the whole line from one side to the other.

So for initiation we usually make paddles for our big sisters because they makes us stuff like pillows and picture frames, etc. No they don't paddle us, they hang them on the wall. The paddles are just a tradition. I was very proud because I'm not a particularly crafty person.
Okay... so it doesn't want to upload those pics right now... I'll post them with the other ones (see below).

Also, I threw a pot today! =] It was fun. Unfortunately it was Courtney's clay and she needed it for her project so I smashed it, but I did take pictures of it. I thought it looked pretty cool, but maybe someday my mommy can teach me how to throw a pot and make it actually look like a pot. Anyway, the pictures are still on Courtney's camera so I'll have to get those from her tomorrow or sometime next week.

Hm....

It's been a long week. I've had a lot of sorority stuff and homework, ect. Not much to say, I guess. Besides that yes, I am in fact still alive. =] I have my initiation next week Wed-Fri so I'm pretty excited for that. I feel like I should write more but I don't know what else to say... If anyone has any specific questions they can leave a comment and I'll post again soon. <3

Busy busy busy....

Yes, I know that I haven't posted in a while... I've been doing school work and going to classes and sleeping even. Anyway..... So last night Morgan and I decided to dance around the room and then it was hot and I decided it was cooler on the floor so we were laying on the floor and then sitting and then somehow ended up laying in the doorway and people who walked by looked at us like we were crazy... So anyway, all that is to explain this picture:

We had fun last night =]

Days of the Week

So Morgan and I have been writing the days of the weeks on our white board... You'll understand. Here are the pics:

Pictures

Took some. They're on my computer, but I'm tired. Going to bed and I'll post them tomorrow, probably between the hours of 7pm and 12am... but I'll make sure it gets done tomorrow! =] Anyway, I'm still alive and I'm doing pretty okay with my homework. I feel like I am trying very hard to float, but at least I'm not sinking, so that's good. I do need to sleep more... And with that, good night!

P.S. I'm very excited that my mommy is visiting me in November! This girl is super homesick. =/

Had a whim

to get my hair cut. Just had them cut my bangs mostly and they gave the rest of my hair a trim, just because it hasn't been cut in over a year. And I went to Target today too. Morgan and I got shirts that say "good witch" and "bad witch" on them. =] I'm the good one, if you wondered. I'll post a picture when we wear them. I also got a new pair of jeans since 2/4 that I have are ripped in the knees. Not much else to report, I suppose, so here are the pictures of my hair:

This one is when it dried with the natural curl... I like the other way better (below)

After I straightened them. =]

I'm still not quite used to it, but I like it. Comments?

Homework and Sorority Stuff

So I've been super duper busy with everything. My sorority is doing something called Continuous Open Rush... basically it's like the formal recruitment we just did, but it's just us (instead of all 6 sororities) and it's only 3 nights, not 5. So my nights have all been filled with that (Wed.- Fri.) and homework. I'm almost caught up with that. I had my math test today, I'm having a psych test tomorrow, and that's about all. I don't have anything else due after that until Monday, which is something that is due every Monday for that class, so I'm used to it.

Hm... Jamie is staying with us this weekend. A new book is coming out so she's going to the release with Morgan tomorrow night. And then the next weekend I'm going to Phoenix again because ACAA is having their middle school play and I'd like to go. That's pretty much everything, I think. Just been running around to classes and hanging out with my sisters. It's been a lot of fun. I really like all the girls. =]

Oh.. and tonight someone decided to spray pepper spray in the hall... Did you know that if you spray pepper spray in a contained area, it makes you choke and cough and feel like you've swallowed a handful of pepper dry? Yeah, and drinking water doesn't help. So unless I sleep outside, I just get to keep coughing all night. Yay... =[

My Weekend in Phoenix

So on Saturday Anthony and I went to his nephew's first birthday party, which is this first picture...

Ethan =]

Anthony and his brother playing a game.

Alex hiding from me. (At Jamie's house.)

Jamie's tattoo.

Bekkah spilled something....

So I had lots of fun last weekend. =] And this weekend Jamie is coming up here to visit. And now I'll get back to homework because I have a lot of it.

Up late

Doing homework again. I know, I should do it earlier. Anyway... Just thought I'd check in. Going to bed soon. I miss everyone lots and I can't wait until Christmas. I'll be done with a whole semester of college by then. Yay! I'm so super busy. College is crazy. I think I'm going to try to take less than 17 credits next semester. So... I think I was saying...
Good night!

Still alive

Yes, I'm still here. Just been distracted here with the friends and the homework and such. I'm having fun. =] Maybe tomorrow when I get home I'll post a few pictures. Anyway, just thought I'd post to let everyone know I was alive and well. Finally not sick, over my cold and no asthma here. I'm hoping that going back up I won't have to adjust to the altitude again because that was not so fun. It is much warmer here too. Everyone keeps telling me "just wait until it snows there" but I'm really looking foreward to that part. Yes, it will be cold, but I like it. Anyway, bed time now, or at least get some more reading done. Good night. <3

Off to Phoenix

Not writing much because it's late, but I just thought I'd remind everyone that's I'm going to Phoenix tomorrow after my Psychology class. I'll post again tomorrow night because I'm taking my computer with me. I'm well and all and not behind on my homework. Not done, but I'm not behind. Anyway, I'll take pics this weekend (have my camera and battery charger just in case) and post them. Going to bed now. Night! =]

Rock Climbing

Tonight we went rock climbing! It was lots of fun. =] So.... pictures!

No ropes! (feet had to stay below the line there)

I jumped!

With ropes.

Everyone

I climbed that part too and made it to the top but Morgan was keeping me safe with the rope and all so there's no picture of it.

Anyway... I also had classes today which was okay. I think I still have some homework stuff to do tomorrow but I did my math that's due tomorrow and Shea helped me over the phone. It was making me mad. But now it all makes sense. =] Anyway, I only have four more classes and two more quizzes/exams before I get to go to Phoenix and see Jamie and Anthony. Math and Nutrition tests. The math I have down, the nutrition I still have to look over the book some more. Other than that I'm good on homework until the weekend. Unfortunately I'll have to work on homework in Phoenix. Not much else to report I suppose. Just been running around doing classes and homework and social events, etc.

Monday, September 8, 2008

So...

No pictures yet. Morgan is currently in math class so I can't ask her for the files and then I have math right after her and then maybe we'll see each other for a little while. We tend to have conflicting schedules, which is nice sometimes because then I have the room to myself a little bit here and there.

Today is pretty packed. I have four classes on Mondays, which are actually well spread apart (except the two middle ones) and range from 9:10am to finally being done at 6:30pm. It gets me up and moving and then gives me some time for homework in between and for meals. I only have one class left, which is math, which I enjoy most of the time. After math I have a few hours to eat, do homework, and get ready for my sorority meeting that's at 9. We have meetings every Monday night, so for future reference, that's where I am if you're trying to call. (Not that any of you now on east coast time will call me that late.)

Tomorrow I thankfully only have two classes so I'll (hopefully) get a lot of studying done in between. I like my Tuesdays, they're more relaxing than other days and I'm still in school week mode so I can actually get work done. I've learned quickly that by the time Friday rolls around, I'm usually too far gone to get work done even though I have the thought to get it done so it doesn't stress me out throughout the weekend.

Let's see... what else? I got a new phone that I like the design of, but I realized when I was buying it that it is Windows based and meant for use with internet, which I just can't justify paying for monthly without having any kind of income (it's $30 per month), especially when I have a perfectly good computer. So, they told me that I have 30 days to return the phone and I'm thinking that tomorrow I will go back to AT&T and get a different phone which I also liked and costs way less than this one. I also considered the iPhone briefly because it has wifi and iTunes and a touch screen, but that's also expensive and I already have an iPod. Plus, it's not as easy to text with the touch screen as it is with the keypad. So... that's another thing on my list of to-do's tomorrow.

Something random that I really love about college is that if I wake up and I feel like throwing on sweatpants and going off to class like that, no one cares. Half the people getting lunch yesterday afternoon were still in their pajama's. I wouldn't go that far, but it's nice that I don't have to care about following a dress code or anything like that. And my sweats say Northern Arizona on them so I'm showing school spirit even.

I think that's all for now because I have some reading to do and class starts in a little under an hour. I'm glad everyone made it to Kentucky safe and sound and I'm excited to see the house at Christmas time. : )

Finally!

No, your eyes are not decieving you, I am posting! Yes, it's been over a week. I've been crazy busy with homework, sorority sisters, classes, and errands.

One thing I haven't been busy with? Laundry. Which is what I'm doing now. And since this weekend I've also been procrastinating other things, I also have a lot of reading to do still. <<...>>

So... where to start? Let's see. I'm in a sorority called Alpha Delta Pi. I really like all the girls and one of them is even in one of my classes. Morgan and I are still getting along too and we're even still very very silly sometimes. Exibits A and B:

ANYWAY.... We've also been doing studying and school work, I swear. And eating. Meal plans, I've decided, are nice things to have. (Even if you do have to pay back the loans later.) I still have plenty of little post-it notes on my desk of things to do though. And the trash kind of needs to be taken out. But otherwise things are pretty good. I'm going with Morgan (maybe) and Alex down to Phoenix next weekend to see Jamie because her birthday is on Saturday. Also, Sunday marks exactly a year and a half of me going out with Anthony so it will be nice to see him that day, even if we have to go back that night.

Today we did a ropes challenge course. That was fun. Many videos and pictures were taken so I'll post those when I get them from Morgan. (soon) And then I went to church and then to a floor meeting and now then to my room to potentially do homework. And I know this is a short post for not having posted in 8 days... but I really do have homework to do so I'll post again tomorrow. I promise!

Saturdays

I have discovered that early Saturday mornings are the best time to study in the dorm. Any time before about 10:30am almost everyone is still sleeping and those that are not aren't making much noise. By 11ish (now) there are people playing music and talking and such, but earlier it was nice and quiet. I think I will remember to take advantage of this a lot this year.

Last night I went to the first night of sorority recruitment. It is a five day process that continues tonight- Tuesday night when you are accepted into a sorority. The process here is extremely inclusive and nothing like the "rushing" you see in movies or might expect of other schools. It's more about mutual selection where the girls, after four nights rank their top two and almost always get into one of those two.

Today's plans include: going to lunch with some of the other girls going through recruitment, Dad and Shea coming up to visit (they already left Phoenix), getting my bike fixed because the front tire is still bent, going to the post office at some point in case I have mail, studying if I can find more time, going to dinner with Dad and Shea, and then going to the second night of recruitment. Tomorrow is pretty much study and recruitment and probably church in the morning considering recruitment is right when church would be and that's about it. Thankfully, Monday is a holiday so any school work leftover from the weekend can be finished up then.

And now I'm going to finish my tea (having a Starbucks close by is nice sometimes because I don't really like making tea from tap water here in the room) and get ready for the rest of the day. Hope everyone has a nice weekend. I haven't really had time to take any pictures or anything, but if I do, I'll be sure to post some of them. Mostly I figure there's not really anything to take pictures of in class, which is most of what I've been up to.

Homework, Health, and Contact

Already homework in all my classes except my Kickboxing class. I got myself into a Pre-Calculus class because the other one seemed way too easy and boring. This one seems pretty easy too, but I think after the first few chapters it will get more challenging. Besides that class, all my homework is basically reading textbooks. I think I have everything under control so far. I plan to do my math after this post and then some reading and more reading tomorrow so I can get it all out of the way before the weekend. I think I like all my classes now, which is pretty good for having no idea what I want my main focus to be. Or maybe bad because the classes are all very diverse and that narrows it down to nothing. We'll see, I guess.

Lately I've been having wheezing and tightness in my chest, so I went to the health center on campus yesterday and the nice doctor lady gave me 5 days of Prednisone (a steriod) which is supposed to help, but I took the first dose this morning and so far has not. If it's still not working tomorrow or the next day, I'm supposed to go back. If it works while I'm taking it and I go back to how I am now after it's done then she said I would need a long acting inhaler pretty much all the time. Fun...

And Grandpa e-mailed me about my address here. I thought I posted it, but I remembered that I just thought about it. So... here is my address...

Casey Rembold
PO Box 06280
Flagstaff, AZ 86011

And if you want to contact me by phone, my cell is the same as ever... (480) 241-9077. I have a few dead spots in the room and randomly around campus, like the Hot Spot (one of the food places here) but I should get any calls or voicemails, and of course there is always e-mail or leaving a comment on here. We do have an assigned number for the dorm, but we don't have a phone because they can only make local calls and anyone in this city is probably easier to reach on their cell phone, plus we don't spend too much time in the dorm during the day.

Second Day of Classes!

So my morning class was canceled and on Tuesdays I only have two classes, so I went to Target with my friend Alex from HS who happens to be in that first class. After that I came back to my dorm and did some homework, which is what I'm about to continue on after this post. My later class was math and that seemed okay, but kind of boring. I'm going to the Gateway Student Center tomorrow to see if there might be a way to test into some higher level class. That's really all I've done today. It's been pretty relaxing, I think, but thinking about tomorrow is getting less relaxing so I'm going to stop posting and do some of that homework now.

Hope everyone is doing alright!

First Day of Classes!

So my day so far has gone like this:
FIrst class, kickboxing, made it on time and all we did was go through the syllabus. After that I came back to the room because I have a two hour break between classes. I then proceded to try to make it to South campus to meet up with Morgan for lunch and ended up going in a giant circle because I thought I knew where I was going and didn't have a map. Yay... after my Psych 101 class (which the teacher told us has at one point had a 50% fail rate, I don't plan to be in that half) I walked outside and got on my bike and it immediately started raining. No big deal, right? I like rain. And then it started to hail in addition to the still going rain... and then I remembered that my laptop was in my backpack, but it was okay because it was also in a case sort of thing. Between my PSY101 and my first year seminar I have 20 mins. I spent these 20 mins trying to get from South campus to North campus. I started out with accidentally hitting another person on a bike, we were both okay and I didn't actually fall, but my front wheel is now bent. I guess that makes Morgan and I even because of her crash yesterday, which I think I wrote about, so now both of us need to get our bikes fixed. Then I took a longer route than necessary to get back to my dorm which by then it was the start time of my class. I fully changed my clothes, made sure everything in my wet backpack was okay and ran out the door to get to my class about 15-20 mins late. That class will be a little difficult because it involves a lot of reading and writing, but I think I'm up to the challenge. And now I'm back here, done with classes for the day. Soon I am off to have an early dinner with Morgan and go to the bookstore for a quick issue that I have. After that I need to go to Target seeing as I somehow forgot to bring any laundry detergent with me up here and I want a few other things as well. That is about all for today, maybe get started on some reading or something and probably get my laundry done.

So, like I said to Morgan, this is one of those days (esp. combined with yesterday) that sounds like an elaborate story but is actually true. But on the bright side I do feel a lot better. =]

Short Post

Today I mostly slept a lot. I've been really hot, maybe a fever, I'm not sure. I went to the bookstore and had lunch out and later we had a hall/building meeting. They gave us keys to the bathrooms, just the girls. I think I feel safer that way. Other than that, I pretty much spent the day resting. This morning I did go on a bike ride from about 6:30 am until about 8. Morgan took a little fall on a steep hill. She was very lucky and managed to fall in the grass and only has a very swollen toe and a few scratches on her arms. Classes start tomorrow and I think I'm going to try to go to sleep very soon. I'm tired and my first class is at 9:10 am. Good night!

Moving In At NAU

This weekend has been a little crazy. We got home very late on Thursday night from Seattle and then got up and started working around 8am on Friday to get my stuff packed in Anthony's truck. We got up here and there were guys from the football team to help everyone move in. Unpacking took a lot less time than the packing part. I spent the rest of the afternoon unpacking my boxes and doing a little organizing. In the evening, the five of us (Anthony, Mom, Shea, my roommate Morgan, and me), along with another friend from HS, went to see The Dark Knight and had some dinner. Today, which seems like it's been more than one, I have gotten my books, run a few errands, walked and biked around campus a bit, said goodbye to my mom and Anthony, and done a lot more organizing to prepare for the school year. Classes start on Monday and there are plenty of activities to keep everyone busy this week.

I took a few pictures of my dorm room to show everyone. I really like my room and my bed is REALLY comfortable. Morgan and I have always gotten along really well and so far things are the same. =]

Here are the picture and I will try to post again soon.
